Ribourdin Castle : Charming Bed and Breakfast in Yonne / Burgundy / France
Marie-Claude and Claude Brodard invite you to enjoy the calm of the
countryside in Château de Ribourdin in the village of Chevannes. The 5
rooms await you in the outbuildings of this 16th-century castle. Each of
the five rooms, spacious and comfortable, are named after one of the
castles of the village. They face east and offer a great view of the
surrounding country. Each one has its own personality,style and colours.
All rooms have private shower room, with bath or shower and WC. One bedroom
is conveniently designed for disabled visitors.
In the hall, out of the large window, you’ll have a beautiful view on the
castle and the church. You’ll have access to the room « Château-Gaillard ».
The imposing oak staircase will lead you to the mezzanine and the lounge,
and to the four bedrooms. On the garden level, the spacious and luminous
room, with wooden beams and large windows, is painted with natural ochre
colours of Puisaye. It opens on the garden and the main courtyard. You’ll
enjoy the lounge, a charming place to relax or have a drink, tea, coffee or
infusion, in front of the fire place.
An ornamental garden surrounded with a hedge of bower will provide you
unforgettable moments of peace and relaxation, near the flowerbeds or in
the shade of the trees. You will walk upon the small bridge over the
Ribourdin watercourse which leads you to the orchard where Marie-Claude
collects fruit to make delicious jam and to the family kitchen garden. With
the first sunny days, you will relax in deck-chairs close to the family
swimming-pool at your disposal. You’ll appreciate the calm of this castle
and the copious breakfasts.
Ideally situated at about 7 km from Auxerre , you’ll be next to the
historical, cultural and touristic sites : Guédelon, Saint-Fargeau,
Vézelay, the Vineyards (Chablis, Irancy, Chitry), Noyers sur Serein,
Aubigny, the castle of Tanlay, Meaulnes and Ancy-le-franc…
